Ponca City, OK – Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) has once again been recognized as a Gold Star School by the Oklahoma Association of Career & Technology Education (OkACTE), marking the 24th year the school has earned the distinction.

The Gold Star School Award recognizes technology centers that demonstrate exceptional performance and a continued commitment to serving students, businesses, and their communities.

To earn the designation, technology centers must meet rigorous standards in areas including student retention, job placement, instructional quality, recruitment and guidance, assessments, and business and industry training.

“Earning the Gold Star School Award once again is a true testament to the dedication of our staff and the strong relationships we have with our community and industry partners,” said PTC Superintendent/CEO Traci Thorpe. “It’s a privilege to see the impact of our shared commitment in helping students and businesses succeed.”

The recognition reflects PTC’s ongoing focus on creating meaningful opportunities for students while responding to the workforce and training needs of area employers.

Gold Star School designation is valid for 12 months, and technology centers must reapply each year to maintain the honor.
