Students from Pioneer Technology Center’s Esports Academy spent part of their summer learning more than just how to play games, they learned what it takes to compete at the next level in Esports. Through hands-on activities, students learned livestreaming basics, and practiced gameplay using Marvel Rivals, a team-based game that requires strategy, quick thinking, and strong teamwork. They worked on understanding hero abilities, team compositions, and map awareness; all important parts of Esports success.
Students also teamed up with Pioneer Tech’s Esports Live Streaming Academy to try out “shoutcasting,” the live commentary that goes with Esports events, giving both groups a look into the production side of gaming.
This Academy is part of Pioneer Tech’s ongoing effort to give students real-world experience in both Information Technology and the growing world of Esports.
