Current Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) School Board Member, J.D. Soulek, has announced his intent to run for re-election of PTC’s School District Board of Education. His current seat is located in Zone 2 of PTC’s district and is primarily composed of the Blackwell, Braman and Peckham areas. Soulek has served as a board member for Pioneer Technology Center since 2000.
"Since being appointed to fill an unexpired term in 2000 and then running for that position, I have strived to educate myself on the many aspects of being a school board member. I take the fiduciary responsibilities of the position very seriously and try to make those decisions which will benefit the taxpayer as well as our customer and clientele bases. I feel PTC has a significant economic impact on our district and area," stated Soulek.
Soulek moved to Blackwell from Perry in 1971. He graduated from Blackwell High School and later received an Associate of Science degree from Northern Oklahoma College. Soulek also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from OSU. He worked in Tulsa for five years, but returned to the Nardin-Blackwell area in 1984. Soulek currently serves as the Director of Accounting at Kay Electric Cooperative and has been employed there since 1999.
