Manufacturer's Network First Meeting

The Manufacturers’ Network meeting gave participants the opportunity to interact with industry peers and discuss current issues in their fields. Left to right, Paul Brown, Asbury Machine/Throop Rock Bit plant manager; Don Johnson, Cameron Compression plant manager; Kelly Johnson, Quality Water president; Pete Davies, Bliss Industries plant manager; and Dennis Ward, Smith Technology plant manager listen intently to members’ discussion.

The Manufacturer’s Network provides a forum for industry decision makers to gather and draw from each others’ experiences and resources. Over 17 local manufacturers were represented at the September 30 meeting.

The local Manufacturers’ Network held its first gathering September 30 at Pioneer Technology Center (PTC). PTC and the Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) partnered to host the assembly. According to Dennis Ruttman, PTC business and industry director, "The group was formed to create an opportunity for manufacturers in north central Oklahoma to network, learn more about each other and upcoming issues while providing occasions for discussion and even problem solving. Each member of the group is considered a decision maker from their organization, whether he or she be called ‘president,’ ‘CEO,’ ‘CFO’, or ‘plant manager.’" The first meeting’s agenda included introductions and discussion regarding the general concept of the network, the group’s needs, and the direction for the group.
