Eight students from Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) recently attended Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) North 4 District Meeting. It was held at Stillwater High School in the Performing Arts Center on September 24, 2008. Thirty-one schools and 1500 members, advisors, and guest attended making this year’s meeting spectacular!
The theme for this year’s meeting was CSI: "Chapter Service Investigation". It focused on ways to be a leader by helping member’s communities and helped them realize the "Leader within". FCCLA members were encouraged to pursue career and life paths that incorporate their personal skills and talents while serving others
Kelly Barnes of "Your Next Speaker.com" was the presenter this year. He spoke brilliantly about working hard to lead others. The district officers delivered inspiring challenges to end the day.
"Kelly’s presentation made us laugh, made us think, and most importantly made us realize the power of our everyday thoughts and actions. The students heard a powerful message" said Marilyn Coates, PTC Early Care & Education Instructor.
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is a national organization concentrating on the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors with individuals to strengthen family and support communities.
