Pioneer Tech Teachers Receive MAX Training

Pioneer Technology Center instructors, (left to right) Kendra Keelin and Johnny Thornburgh, work with trainer Todd Luke to develop strategies in implementing instructional literacy in their daily classroom activities. Luke is a staff developer for MAX Teaching and an educational practitioner. MAX Teaching is an Ohio based organization that is composed of a team of professionals who focus on preparing teachers to help students better learn course content while improving students' abilities in reading and writing skills. The essential goal of teachers who use the MAX teaching framework is to raise the bar for all students, by creating a classroom environment that provides skill instruction that enables improved performance while engaging all students in active learning from textbooks and other forms of textual matter. The acronym MAX stands for Motivation, Acquisition, and EXtension.
