SkillsUSA Welding Contest
 Pioneer Technology Center’s (PTC) welding students recently attended the state SkillsUSA contest. These welding students defeated approximately 120 students throughout the state to advance to the state competition. Ted Rowe, welding instructor stated, “I’m very proud of these young men for their hard work and diligence to reach their goals at the state level.” Pictured left to right, PTC welding winners Justin K. Jenkins, post-secondary student, won a bronze medal in the Welding Skills competition; Ted Rowe, welding instructor; Joshua Plunk, post-secondary student, won a bronze medal in the Welding Demonstration competition; and Justin R. Jenkins, secondary student, won a gold medal in the Welding Skills Competition and will advance to the national level in June in Kansas City, Kansas. At this competition approximately 10,000 students from the U.S., Guam, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico will compete in over 40 different contests.
