National Technical Honor Society Induction

    Twenty-two students at Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) for the 2009-2010 school year. The students were recognized during the NTHS ceremony held recently in the seminar center with guest speaker Phil Bandy, a Pioneer Tech Board of Education member. 
    NTHS serves as the benchmark for excellence in workforce education by encouraging students to set goals and challenging them to give their best. NTHS also helps students to build important workplace values that are in demand by business and industry. In order for a student to be inducted into the NTHS they must maintain an “A” in their Pioneer Tech class and be recommended by their instructor. They also may not have more than three absences for the school year. High school students must also maintain a “C” in their home school classes. 
    The following students were recognized and given a certificate along with honor cords for their achievements: from Biomedical Sciences, Academy, Braeley Janda; Business and Information Technology Education (BITE),Ethan Lawson, Kyle Smith, and Steve Young; from Cosmetology, Josiah Abello, Veronica Abello, and Kandas Horinek; from Collision Repair, Ryan Frye, and Joshua Johnston; from Culinary Arts, Malia McMillen, and Melissa Pando; from Early Care and Education, Keirstin Grudowski, Amy Parker, Missy Swopes, and Cheyenne White; from Health Careers Certification, Amber Holloway, and Aeryka Lawson; from Machine Tool Technology, John Birdwell; from Welding Technology, Brent Arnold, Shaun Dauzat, Chris Dorris and Justin K. Jenkins.
