Professional Court Assistance
Nearly everyone needs to create a legal document at some point. Most people know the basics of what they want to accomplish but creating a completed “do-it-yourself” document can be an expensive and daunting task. That is no longer the case thanks to Professional Court Assistance, a newly formed business giving area residents an affordable option during these tough economic times.
July 1, two Ponca City women opened the business, which is housed at Pioneer Technology Center’s Business Incubator. The company’s typical documents include agreed-upon divorce, name changes, small claims, collections, corporations, limited liability corporations, wills, living wills and powers of attorney.
Their document preparation process is simple, affordable and efficient. They will prepare your documents with the specific information you provide and create a document up to court standards. The company cannot file documents for the client. However, they can lead them through the steps and provide an estimate of the associated filing costs.
Professional Court Assistance is not an attorney nor will they give you any legal advice. They will complete your document quickly and professionally and allow you to skip the frustration of trying to figure out how to do it yourself and eliminate the fear of making a mistake.
Professional Court Assistance grew out of an identified need Mandy Gann recognized while working in legal offices. The business offered her the opportunity to care for her children with more flexibility and reach beyond just an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. business. She realized that clients might need to meet after regular business hours.
“We are not just 8 to 5,” said Gann. “If they need to come after hours we can meet them so they will not miss any work.”
Mandy Gann and Susan Kirkbride opened Professional Court Assistance through the Business Incubator at Pioneer Technology Center and so far have been extremely pleased with the response to this new endeavor. The new business is already contracting with some local attorneys to provide document preparation. They were also recently awarded a Ponca City Development Authority grant to use in establishing this business.
Mandy Gann has worked in legal offices for more than a decade and has an associate’s degree in paralegal studies. She hopes to pursue her paralegal license soon, which will allow her to represent some clients in small claims court.
Susan Kirkbride has worked in the legal and judiciary fields for over 15 years. She has extensive knowledge of document preparation and court standards that is necessary for the business.
This two-member team at Professional Court Assistance brings experience, professionalism and an understanding of court requirements to their clients.
The future of Professional Court Assistance is wide open. They are already looking at new options to expand the business. “Our first goal is to expand statewide and try and help as many people as we can,” Gann said.
Gann and Kirkbride agree that this dream has been made possible by Pioneer Technology Center. The staff there has been instrumental in assisting with the business plan and the process of opening a new business. They have helped with preparing financial statements, marketing and advertising, and kept them motivated to make it all happen.
