Worker's Compensation Workshop Pioneer Technology Center’s (PTC) Business and Industry Services (BIS) programs are offering a Worker’s Compensation Workshop Thursday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at PTC’s Seminar Center in the main building. Guest speaker for the class will be Gerri Mooney, counselor, Oklahoma’s Workers’ Compensation Court. Mooney specializes in educational and informational programs relating to claims handling, medical related services and Title 85. She has over 20 years experience in the drilling and electric utility industries focusing on risk, insurance, and claims management for both fully-insured and self-insured entities in numerous states. Mooney ensures that attendees will receive current up-to-date information regarding the most recent changes in the Workers' Compensation laws and regulations. They will also receive answers to such questions as: “Do I need workers' compensation?”, “How do I get workers' compensation insurance?”, “Are there exemptions from workers' compensation insurance?”, “I'm an independent contractor, do I need workers' compensation insurance?”, “What are the employees benefits/rights?”, “What are fraud indicators?”, and more.
In addition, Mooney will provide current up-to-date information regarding the most recent changes in the Workers’ Compensation laws and regulations.
